Quinta da Cheira is a project inseparable from its creator, Carlos Machado. Located in Mazedo, Monção, just a few metres from the imposing Brejoeira Palace, it stands out for its small scale and the intensity of the human involvement with both vineyard and wine.

Across its few hectares of vines, Carlos Machado maintains a permanent and direct relationship with the land and with the winemaking process. Very little is delegated: every decision, every gesture and every moment is part of a total commitment to the cycle from vine to wine.
The work combines artisanal know-how with scientific knowledge, enriched by the family dimension — that added soul which gives meaning and continuity to the project. From this balance emerge lively and complex wines, made exclusively from the Alvarinho grape variety, which express with clarity both the character of the terroir and the passion of human labour.

Quinta da Cheira is a discreet yet deeply consistent project. A producer to take note of. A place to discover — with attention to detail and respect for its scale.
