Project and creator
Quinta da Cheira is a project that is intertwined with Carlos Machado, its creator. Located in Mazedo, Monção, a few metres from the imposing Palácio da Brejoeira, it stands out for its small scale and the intensity of its human involvement with vines and wine.

Relationship with the land and wine
In the few hectares of vineyards, Carlos Machado favours a direct and permanent relationship with the land and the winemaking process.
Here, nothing is delegated too much: every decision, every gesture and every moment is part of a total relationship with the cycle from vine to wine.

Balance, soul and terroir
The work combines craftsmanship and scientific knowledge, plus the family dimension - a soul supplement that gives the project meaning and continuity.
From this balance come lively and complex wines, exclusively from the Alvarinho grape variety, capable of synthesising in an exemplary way the expressiveness of the terroir and the passion of human labour.
Quinta da Cheira is a discreet yet deeply consistent project. A producer to take note of. A place to discover — with attention to detail and respect for its scale.
