Located just a few kilometres from the lush town of Arcos de Valdevez, Quinta Ecológica da Peneda (Peneda Ecofarm) is dedicated to organic farming and to promoting a way of life deeply rooted in the land. Alongside this, it offers bed and breakfast accommodation and organises activities focused on the discovery of nature, culture and gastronomy in northern Portugal and Galicia.
The accommodation consists of six thoughtfully named rooms — River, Sun, Earth, Mountain, Sky and Forest — reflecting a close connection to the surrounding landscape. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, ideal for those who enjoy nature and value interaction and exchange with their hosts.

All agricultural practices follow the principles of agroecology and permaculture. Across the farm’s eight hectares, chestnuts, a wide variety of fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and aromatic herbs are grown, always in respect of natural cycles and biodiversity.
These ingredients form the basis of many of the meals prepared on site, both for guests and visitors, with regional as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Menus change with the seasons and are available for lunch or dinner.

The experience is further enriched by cooking workshops, where participants prepare a traditional meal deeply rooted in Minho’s culinary culture, followed, naturally, by a shared meal around the table.
In short, Peneda Ecofarm offers countless reasons to slow down, learn and experience the territory in a conscious and meaningful way.
