Family and heritage
Quinta de Alderiz is a wine estate located in the municipality of Monção, in the heart of the Minho Valley. A family tradition, it has belonged to the Pinheiro family since the mid-20th century and is dedicated to the production of Alvarinho on around 12 hectares of continuous vineyards.
The vineyards, with an average age of 25 years, are planted on granite-clay soils and benefit from the very particular microclimatic conditions of this region. It is in this balance between soil, climate and time that the Alvarinho grape variety finds the ideal conditions to express all its complexity and breadth.

Innovation, traditional knowledge and discovery
At Quinta de Alderiz, innovation naturally coexists with respect for tradition and the knowledge accumulated over generations.
It is said that Joaquim Pinheiro (1910-1985), a pioneer and tireless defender of the Alvarinho, had a habit of talking to the vines while he tended to them. A simple gesture, but one that reveals a deeply humanised and passionate relationship with the land.
More than a wine producer, Quinta de Alderiz is a place where memory, knowledge and territory intertwine. A place that really must be discovered.
