It's with  this purpose  that We Want Green creates the conditions for you to experience three stages of the extensive Great Peneda Gerês Route (GR50), which takes place entirely in mountainous territory, in the heart of the National Park. And even if it's just a summary of what is one of Portugal's greatest walking routes, it's enough to exercise our ancestral nomadic spirit, indulging in the invigorating silence of the landscape and the most varied sensory stimuli. In addition to this, there is the medieval and more recent historical heritage and the traces of ancient rural culture that we encounter along the way.

In the same area, but outside the Great Route, we propose another truly fabulous mountain trail: the Peneda Trail. It's circular and demanding, but of extraordinary beauty.

Then, away from the mountains, on the slopes of the River Vez, we suggest two trails that take us back to the rural environment of yesteryear, of subsistence farming in rugged and demanding terrain. At a slow pace and with a keen eye, we walk to discover the terraces of Sistelo (which are a Cultural Landscape and National Monument), along old paths and disused tracks. As we go along, we realise what a treat it is to contemplate this characteristic landscape from different angles and perspectives.
