We are in a borderland, shaped by a shared historical and cultural identity. Across the Minho River lies Galicia, with which this land shares an exceptional grape — Alvarinho, known as Albariño in Spain — rooted on both banks and nurtured over centuries.
Here, Alvarinho is more than wine. It embodies heritage, culture, and a sense of place. Present for generations, it has accompanied local ways of life and naturally found its place at the Minho table, where wine enters into dialogue with everyday foods, knowledge, and practices.
Through the interplay of landscape, wine, and food culture, this journey reveals how Alvarinho harmonizes with local flavours and how communities inhabit, cultivate, and share this cross-border territory.
The experience includes visits to two carefully selected wine estates in the Minho Valley, with guided tastings complemented by local delicacies. A regional lunch and moments of contemplative engagement with the landscape at sites of historical and scenic significance complete the day, all enjoyed at the unhurried pace of rural Minho.
