Between Monção and Melgaço, Alvarinho is more than wine: it is identity, landscape and culture moulded by the proximity of the border. A long history where territory, communities and vineyards have evolved together.
◆ We are in a border territory shaped by a shared historical and cultural identity. On the other side of the Minho River lies Galicia, with which this region shares an exceptional grape variety — Alvarinho, Albariño in Spain — rooted on both banks for centuries.
◆ Here, Alvarinho is more than wine. It is heritage, culture and an expression of place. Present for generations, it has accompanied local ways of life and found at the Minho table a natural space of dialogue, where wine meets local products, knowledge and everyday culinary practices.
◆ This experience invites the discovery of the territory through the relationship between landscape, wine and food culture, exploring how Alvarinho integrates into local flavours and into the ways communities inhabit, produce and share this cross-border space.
◆ It includes visits to two representative wine estates of the Minho Valley, with guided tastings of Alvarinho in dialogue with local flavours, a traditional regional lunch and the discovery of places of remarkable historical and landscape value, experienced at the serene rhythm of rural Minho.
