Description of Experience

• Cultural landscape, natural beauty, world biosphere reserve and hillside villages.
• The cycle of corn and bread in a projection shown at the Casa do Castelo in Sistelo, which highlights the terraced land, the hard and meticulous work, the water mill and the wood oven, vital elements of survival in times gone by.
• And to this we add the story of the man who ordered the palace to be built, the Viscount of Sistelo.
• And the Viscountess, Júlia Labourdonnay, a painter who was certainly one of the most striking figures in Portuguese female art at the transition from the 19th to the 20th century.
• Afterwards, we'll head to Arcos de Valdevez for an inspiring meal in an exclusive place, cooked by those who make eco-sustainability their passion.
• And we'll end the day with a visit to the Paço de Giela, a national monument, and the historic centre of Arcos de Valdevez, graceful and very rich in religious baroque art
