Description of Experience
Where the Landscape Unfolds in Time
Here, the landscape is not merely observed: it is walked slowly, among terraces, wineries, and gestures repeated across generations.
A journey that combines walking in nature with the discovery of wine and the cultural landscape of Alto Minho. Our day begins in the village of Sistelo, where the profound rural Vinho Verde landscape is experienced on foot, accompanied by someone intimately familiar with its history and cultural singularities.
Designated a National Monument and Cultural Landscape, the village “gives the impression of being at the ends of the earth, a place outside time — a well-kept secret,” as described by the French channel TF1.
Along the walk, the landscape gradually reveals itself through terraced vineyards, traditional paths, and the subtle interplay between nature and human activity in a territory shaped over centuries. Participants encounter a rustic, ancestral expression of Vinho Verde, produced according to local traditions.
The program also includes a regional lunch and a visit to a pioneering wine project in the Lima Valley, offering contemporary and refined interpretations of Vinho Verde wines. Each moment is designed to immerse visitors in the rhythms, gestures, and stories of the land, creating a deeper connection with both the territory and its people.
Walking through the rustic terraces and vineyards reveals ancestral gestures, extending to where Vinho Verde tradition and innovation meet, allowing one to read the vineyard landscape and feel the presence of the territory.
