Quinta das Alvaianas is located in Melgaço, in the Vinho Verde wine sub-region of Monção and Melgaço, a precious territory for the sublime Alvarinho grape variety.
It's a project created by José Rodrigues, who planted the first vines in 1996 and four years later started winemaking.
Subsequently, it began converting to organic farming and in 2012 launched its first organic 100% wine. Since then, the search for sustainability has been a constant there, with the aim of ensuring that in this magnificent amphitheatre on the River Minho, the treatment of the vineyards and the production of wine respect the environmental balance as much as possible and contribute to healthier, more biodiversity-friendly agriculture. This effort has resulted in wines of recognised quality and expressiveness.
A place to take into account when discovering the captivating territory of Melgaço.
