IN A DAZZLING SETTING
Over the Veigas bridge, in the warm early afternoon sun, with the colourful vegetation and the magnetism of the granite landscape as backdrops... what more could you ask for?
We're in Castro Laboreiro, Peneda Gerês National Park, a place where the splendour of nature is matched by history, so much history.
It is expressed in the ruins of the castle built many centuries ago on a vertiginous and impossible site, in the Roman and Romanesque bridges, in the Romanesque church, in the many prehistoric remains or in the stories of smuggling and the transition between brandas and inverneiras, basic elements in the moulding of a unique culture.
A perfect place for a day of discovery at a slow pace and with a watchful eye.
