PENEDA GERÊS NATIONAL PARK FEATURED IN FORBES

Ann Abel is a renowned travel writer who, among other things, was editor-in-chief of Forbes / Life for several years. She has also shared her writing in publications such as Departures, Conde Nast Traveler, Robb Report, Afar, National Geographic Traveler, Islands, Hemispheres, Brides, Modern Bride, Luxury SpaFinder, Well + Good.
And it appears here because of the article he wrote in Forbes (Lifestyle - Travel) last April, dedicated almost entirely to the Peneda Gerês National Park.  
Ann Abel emphasises, among many interesting descriptive details, that Portugal is a small country with a lot to offer and surprise. It's a fashionable tourist destination, not least because of its famous cities and beautiful beaches. However, she emphasises, it's when the visitor ventures beyond these dimensions that things start to get really interesting: that's when the genuineness and uniqueness of the country truly reveal themselves. 

In fact, we would add, Portugal has a formidable cultural heritage, built up over the centuries and expressed in its immense diversity of gastronomy, wine, creativity, landscape and customs and traditions. A real treat for people eager for discovery, authenticity and an escape from the commonplace. And while the article focuses almost exclusively on the Peneda Gerês National Park, we'd like to take this opportunity to add, due to geographical proximity, the border territory of the Minho River Valley or the luxuriant Vez Valley, with its rural features, abundant nature and inexhaustible historical wealth.
