The route starts from Branda da Aveleira, an idyllic mountain village, and crosses the river Vez, which is still in its infancy, to the branda do Furado. It then climbs up to the Alto Vez Glacier viewpoint and continues along a track, which bravely resists the advance of the undergrowth, to the ruins of another branda: De Real.
The brandas were satellites of the main villages, sometimes quite distant from them, which were frequented especially in the summer.
From there we advance along an unobstructed and well-defined path and little by little the landscape, irrepressibly beautiful, gains in breadth, imposing shapes and abundant streams of shadows. And the painting intensifies its magnetism and completely subdues the mind and the eye.
Up there, at the Pedrinho geodesic landmark, the wind reigns, sharp and persistent. All around, the horizon is pure brilliance and a sparkling remnant of eternity. Whether you're looking at the granite mountains of Peneda, the voluptuous and distant hills of Galicia, the steep slopes of Vez or the valleys of Mouro and Minho
And meanwhile the cattle and horses graze there peacefully, accustomed as they seem to be to the aridity and severity of this magnificent place.
