Description of Experience

● THE LIME SUB-REGION is one of the nine that constitute the VINHO VERDE and comprises the municipalities of Viana, Ponte de Lima, Ponte da Barca and Arcos de Valdevez.

● There, where nature is effusive, the white LOUREIRO grape variety reigns.  The capital is PONTE DE LIMA, a precious jewel on the banks of the River Lima, with its abundant heritage built up over more than 900 years of history. This includes the wine estates,  many of them secular. 

● It's a magnificent tour that takes us to SISTELO, a NATIONAL MONUMENT village, representative of the rural and remote Alto-Minho, where we'll discover the more rustic and less polished side of Vinho Verde, produced by the farmers for their own consumption. Tasting accompanied by corn bread, the traditional bread of the region.

● Includes  a regional / traditional restaurant lunch.

● And the  discovery of VASCO CROFT's exciting APHROS WINE project, which the famous JONATHAN NOSSITER, in his book CULTURAL RESISTENCE, places on a shortlist alongside legendary figures such as Aubert de Villaine  (Romanée-Conti) and Stefano Bellotti. At the Casal do Paço estate, on the edge of the  abandonment  in the beginning of the 21st century, Vasco Croft has been weaving an admirable project, sustainable and ecological, which will bring us into contact with the most refined version of Vinho Verde.
