Rootedness, nature and way of life

Located just a few kilometres from the town of Arcos de Valdevez, Quinta Ecológica da Peneda (Peneda Ecofarm) is dedicated to organic farming and promoting a way of life deeply rooted in the land.
At the same time, it offers bed and breakfast accommodation and organises activities to discover nature, culture and gastronomy in the north of Portugal and Galicia, proposing a conscious relationship with the territory.

Hospitality, simplicity and place

Accommodation is offered in six rooms, all with inspiring names - River, Sun, Earth, Mountain, Sky and Forest - which reflect the intimate connection to the surrounding environment.
The atmosphere is warm and cosy, designed for those who appreciate nature and value simplicity, presence and sharing with their hosts.

Agroecology, cycles and biodiversity

On the agricultural side, everything is developed according to the principles of agroecology and permaculture.
The estate's eight hectares produce chestnuts, a variety of fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and aromatic herbs, respecting the natural cycles, the fertility of the soil and the biodiversity of the area.

Cuisine, season and culture

These ingredients form the basis of many of the meals cooked on site for both guests and external visitors, with regional and vegetarian/vegan cuisine on offer.
The menus vary according to the season and can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner, revealing a sensitive reading of Minho cuisine based on what the land has to offer at any given time.

Learning, sharing and slowing down

The experience also includes the chance to take part in a cookery class, centred on the preparation of a traditional meal deeply rooted in the local culture, culminating in socialising around the table.
